Press Releases
Welcome to the March 2011 ComfortDisc update.
Attention all air conditioning installers of Daikin, Mitsubishi, and Toshiba:- ComfortDisc is now available for purchase online from www.ejfidgeon.com/store
Choose your energy source: Heat Pumps or Boilers.
ComfortDisc can utilize energy from a wide variety of energy sources to provide you with the most economical method of heating or cooling your building. For example, you could choose from the wide variety of air to water or geothermal heat pumps available from numerous leading brand manufacturers. Instead of connecting to underfloor heating or radiators, choose ComfortDisc for superior comfort, economy and controllability.
As ComfortDisc is the distribution system for your heating or cooling, your overall efficiency and economy will be determined by the efficiency of your heating or cooling source. With efficient EBMpapst EC fan motors and Aprilaire programmable temperature controllers as part of your ComfortDisc system you can be assured that efficient air distribution and controllability are taken care of by ComfortDisc.
ComfortDisc can be use with numerous air to water heat pumps:
As heat pump technology improves, (and oil and gas prices increase) heating your building with an air to water heat pump becomes more and more attractive. Many leading brand heat pumps such as the Daikin Alterma High Temp heat pump are ideal for connecting to your ComfortDisc system. Any leading brand air to water heat pump may be connected to the ComfortDisc hot water coil. The hot water coil is rated at 25KW at 65C EWT at full air flow.
ComfortDisc interfaces with air to air heat pumps from Daikin, Mitsubishi and Toshiba (for Heating and cooling)
The ComfortDisc PLC now interfaces with the following control boxes:
Daikin EKEXDCB & Daikin EKEXFCB control box (ERQ series of condensing units)
Daikin EKEXMCB control box (VRV condensing units)
Mitsubishi Electric PAC-IF012B-E air handling unit controller (Mr. Slim series of condensing units)
Toshiba RBC-AHU1 AHU Interface (DI series of condensing units)
We would like to point out that each of the above manufacturer's have not tested or endorsed the ComfortDisc air handling unit or coil combinations with their respective condensing units. None of the above manufacturers' test or validate their performance data with any third party air handling units. They manufacture an interface box to facilitate the connection of third party air handling units to their condensing units. ComfortDisc coils and air handling units match the recommended airflows, coil volumes as specified by the above manufacturers.

About ComfortDisc:
ComfortDisc is an innovative HVAC system that can deliver warm air heating, air conditioning and heat recovery (HRV) through modular air handling units.
Combined with customized control software, ComfortDisc is Europe's most energy efficient small duct high velocity (SDHV) system. Comfort is delivered from small 125mm diameter discs and eliminates the need for radiators, under floor heating or split systems.
It can be used as a heating only system using hot water from boilers or heat pumps. It can also have a heat pump coil added to provide DX cooling and heating.
There are no draughts (drafts) from the ComfortDisc outlets. The outlets are usually positioned in the corners or perimeter of the room. The sound attenuated flex tubing delivers near silent air flow, delivering even temperatures from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. It is ideally suited for open plan areas, offices and restaurants.
We are seeking distributors and installers worldwide. Contact us for further details of the opportunities available with ComfortDisc
